Cory: We’re leaving.
Mr. Feeny: I know.
Topanga: We wanted to know if you had anything left to teach us.
Mr. Feeny: No. My work with you is done.
Shawn: I donno…It’s pretty scary. Goin’ into a whole new world.
Mr. Feeny: And you are ready to go into that world.
Eric: Even me?
Mr. Feeny: Even you… Believe in yourselves. Dream. Try. Do good.
Topanga: Don’t you mean do well?
Mr. Feeny: No. I mean do good.
Eric: Well, I guess there’s just one thing left then…Tell us you love us.
Mr. Feeny: Now, look . If there’s one thing I’ve taught you is that there is a line between teacher and student that must never be crossed.
Eric: Tell us you love us.
Mr. Feeny: I regard all my students equally.
Shawn: Ooohh. You know we’re your favorites.
Cory: C’mon Feeny. You haven’t even talked to another student for 7 years I mean (you might as well) (covered by laughter)…
Eric: TELL US YOU LOVE US!
Mr. Feeny: I surely will not.
Eric: Okay for you then.
(Topanga hugs Feeny, crying.)
Topanga: I will NEVER forget you. You were more of a father to me than my own dad.
(Topanga walks out)
Shawn: You…uh…never gave up on me. Never once. I’m uh I’m not gonna forget you.. You’re the best person I know. (Hugs Feeny who is expecting a handshake. Shawn leaves the room.)
Eric: I don’t know what’s gonna happen to me. But I do know that I’m gonna be a good person, who cares about people. And I blame you for that (Shakes Feeny’s hand, who is expecting a hug. Then he walks back and hugs him and then leaves the room)
Mr. Feeny: So, Mr Mathews.
Cory: Do you think we know each other long enough to call me Cory?
Mr. Feeny: I think we know each other long enough for me to call you Cornelius.
Cory: Shhhh C’m-Mr Feeny. Not even Topanga knows that!
Mr. Feeny: Your secret is safe with me.
Cory: Well I got Topanga to go to New York.
Mr. Feeny: Good for you.
Cory: She’s not even scared anymore.
Mr. Feeny: Nor should she be.
Cory: (Pause) I am.
Mr. Feeny: Well you have a right to be. (Hugs Cory)
Cory: You comin’ with us Mr Feeny? You gonna sneak up on us in Central Park or something?
Mr. Feeny: No..I shall remain here.
Cory: No, you’ll always be with us. As long as we live, ok? (Walks out of room)
(Everyone’s gone.)
Mr. Feeny. I love you all. Class dismissed.
